Appearances

Michael Stickings has a habit of making precise, succinct statements that get right to the heart of matters that most of us only circle about like insects around a light bulb.

"In the end, for Bush and the Bushies, democracy means much less than whatever it is they can get out of their friendly dictators, like oil, which may be real, or support for Bush's war on terror, which may not be -- support in speech is not support in deed, something Bush has yet to figure out."

Do you really think Bush hasn't figured that out?

Yes.

And thank you for the kinds words, Fogg.

Seems to me that he understands the difference, but knows that enough Americans don't that it won't harm him politically. And we all know the mainstream media won't point out the difference.

You're more than welcome Michael.

Sometimes I'm not sure what Bush understands, but you're right in that all he needs to do is wave flags, mumble about threats and enough of the public will be out there on the parade ground cheering for war, conquest and glory - and worse starting a witch hunt against any unpatriotic skeptics.
