Will the real Jesus please stand up?

“But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus’s teaching that for unto whom much is given, much shall be required,”

Said the President of the United States to a nation fulsomely fond of telling us that not only were our founding fathers fundamentalist Christians, but that our laws are really a re-statement of the Bible and that we are a Nation under God -- whatever that's supposed to mean.

Apparently it doesn't mean that a man with an African father who can't be considered a "real"American or a "real" Christian and most assuredly not a "real" president can presume to have such values in a country in which they have almost always been honored in the breach. Why that boy must think he's not only as good as the rest of us to whom America was given, but he must think he's Jesus himself if he presumes to quote from the book that belongs to us as white people.
"Someone needs to remind the president that there was only one person who walked on water, and he did not occupy the Oval Office.”
said the reprehensible Orrin Hatch (Hypocrite-Utah) at the National Prayer Breakfast Thursday.

No Orrin, those Christian values you pretend to aren't any different than Muslim or Jewish values with respect to the love of justice and our fellow humans and mocking anyone for attempting to put them into action doesn't allow one to walk on water, even if one actually is Jesus of Nazareth. Walking on, wading through and bathing oneself in shit however makes you just another lump in the cesspool and whatever magic ceremony you perform or whatever special underwear you put on, you're an enemy of everything any good man stands for whether he be Jesus or Jefferson.

My, my, my. I thought that guy had died and gone to hell and I'm not referring to the president, either. Wishful thinking on my part, I guess - along with all the other hateful known-nothings.

Am sharing your wise words, Capt. You're right on as usual.

Capt., What a wonderful post. Well said.

Oh. And about that lump in the cesspool you mentioned? Apparently one made its way into your comments at about 3:49 pm.

No fear. Usually they just disintegrate, leaving behind a oily stain.

Sometimes it's "understandable" to use a pseudonym online, and sometimes it isn't, obviously...

"Cheap accusations and lies reveal you for who you are, and you can't stand it when I call you out."

Funny line... Ironic, even... (The lack of self-reflection astounds...)

And for the record, the police have no interest, both one the merits (or lack of 'em) and on jurisdictional grounds, besides... "Law" and "order" on both coasts have assured me that the complaint isn't going anywhere...

"I laugh in your face a million times, asshole."

"I fart in your general direction!"

(Sorry... Couldn't resist...)

James,

I just thought it a good idea to mention to other readers that the comments here refer to a comment that's been deleted. Donald's personal problems and his comical accusations don't much concern me since he makes the same sort of comments about nearly anyone in his search for attention and I think in this case he has to make a fuss to make it look to his employers that he's justified and should be allowed to keep earning his little paycheck.

I rather enjoy these scattershots actually, but I don't want to give him a platform.

No problem, sir...

While I'm not much for comment deletions, either--in my opinion, the comments some folks choose to make do more damage to themselves and their own reputations than to their targets--I do understand where you're coming from, and would never expect a blogger to necessarily do what I would do... Your house, your rules...

(And besides, the comment is safely copied and screenshot, in case I ever find need it for a post of my own... or as evidence.)

Ive only ever deleted a handful of comments and most of them were spam.

It's usually all too easy and a bit of fun to make them dance and foam at the mouth like some poor trained bear, but sometimes we have to deal with real pathological cases and there's no other choice.

But yes, I also keep copies of Troll attacks and the fanciful descriptions they like to indulge in. They're sort of fun to read to people who actually know me.
