Glenn McCoy, the cartoonist whose graphic excretions appear in the New YorkTimes has given us another glimpse into the foul recesses of the Republican mind. His cartoon response to the alleged plot to blow up airliners is a picture of "80 year old Christian Grandmothers"being frisked while a bearded, turbaned man wearing a Dixie Chicks T shirt passes by, whistling. We are to assume that displeasure with George W Bush is the cause of the worldwide chaos George W Bush has aided and done nothing to abate. Only with head firmly inserted in a dark place does it make sense to equate freedom and honesty with being a mad bomber. That dark place is Glenn McCoy.
Apparently this is a continuation of his psychotic fantasies about persecution of Christians and a customarly egregious attempt to link a music group's statement several years ago that they were ashamed of being from Texas. The basis of humor, Ï think, is its relationship to reality. As so often happens with McCoy, his reality isn't reality but a deliberate and vicious lie designed to smear anyone who is not a Nazi-like partizan fanatic.
That such crap gets published in the name of fairness and balance makes me ashamed to be an American.

How can such muddled thinking exist in a national news outlet? Don't the editors watch for blatant stoopiditty?
Yes, they watch for it so they have something to feed the readers.
