What happened

What a revelation! Scott McClellan, the guy who used to stand in front of reporters and the minority of Americans not watching Britney and Anna Nicole and "da game" and spout lies, has now revealed that he told us a lie - unwittingly, of course. It wasn't his fault that he failed to check the facts. He wasn't paid to question; he was paid to sneer dismissively at reporters who did.

Scott has a book coming out in April, titled What Happened.
"So I stood at the White House briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby. There was one problem. It was not true. "
And guess what Scott, you didn't win the Kyrgyzstan Lottery either and the guy trying to get his millions out of Nigeria isn't any more honest than your ex-boss - and of course there's been a lot of blood under the bridge because of the crime family you covered up for. I don't mean to be cruel, but it's your turn to be sneered at. I really hope you don't make any more money from it than OJ did from If I Did It and I hope you soon get to hear the current mouthpiece defame you with the same sneer and condescension as you used from the same podium you told your lies from.

Man is McClellan an A-Hole. Having spent 5 years as a Contractor sitting in the WH(under 2 Presidents)supporting the The WH Press Corps. 1 thing is held SACRED as an employee current or former(and I do agree to the right of free speech) is you NEVER NEVER talk about anything related to a sitting President. Especially a Press Sec'y or someone associated to that office. It is their job to deliver what they are told to deliver. That is why they do not sit in Security Briefings. There is so much "classified info" being passed (this is what I have been told by very reliable sources) that they do not want the PS having this knowledge and knowlingly lieing to the press and public. The PS is carefully spoon fed the information that is to be delivered to us. McClellan is an idiot for betraying the trust that was placed with him. He may need sell alot of books and or get a hefty fee for writing this one because he may never work in the industry again for fear he will "bite the hand that fed him"

Strange logic. By your argument a Presidential appointee should collaborate in crimes against the country because he gets paid for it?

I don't think so. It's quite possible that he did not know he was telling lies and whether or not he is to blame for that, I think he owes the country his loyalty and not some half wit crime boss who happens to be a "sitting president"

Basically, what you're saying is the morality of tyranny and when this country was formed, those who thought they owed loyalty to the King were deemed traitors. If you think anyone in the government owes loyalty to the president and not to the people and their constitution, then you're a traitor too.

This is slightly different than forming a country. I am speaking of a sitting President. Not that it make it right or that I condone lieing, but history is chock full of PS openly, knowingly, bod face lieing to the American public for a huge variety from the most critical of our nations security to the most comical (jsut to protect a presidents reputation. A Press Sec'y that I worked with Joe Lockhart has gone on recoerd many times as have other PS and hi9gh ranking staff members of the current and former administrations, oh and by the way so has former President Bill Clinton that no one should be talk about the things that go on behind those closed doors of a sitting president. A kinda of analogy wolud be the unwritten of sports teams and their athletes They never speak about what goes on in tthe locker room. While I was at the WH those that worked for the admin(s) were or became an extended family. You work unbelievable hours under the most tense situations. You have to be more flexible and multi-task more responsibilities than you could ever imagine so you protect those you work with and for like you would your own family. Again I do not condone lieing and my country does come first, but sometimes you just need to hold your tongue for a more appropriate time or situation and not for your own personal gain.

gah!

yes, there may be times when they need 2 lie, n times when they shd hold their tongues, but it's pretty obvious that a lie that gets us in2 a war shdn't get told, n when ur boss commits a big crime, loyalty is garbage, n it's time 2 talk.

mcclellan waited way 2 long, but i'm glad (tho surprised) he finally opened up.

o! n it's 'lying,' a-hole!

happy thanxgiving, cap!
