So long Scooter

Any hope Scooter Libby had about scooting out of the charges are gone - he has been found guilty of 4 out of 5 felony charges, which include Obstruction of Justice and Perjury. Still, this observer feels unsatisfied that the full extent of the misdeeds surrounding this case remains hidden.

So long Scooter? How about Hello Pardon. That's what is going to happen. Count on it. These guys are above the law because W is the law and he'll give out get out of jail free cards to anyone on his team.

I was going to make the point Cranky just made. How ironic that Libby's alternatives to saving himself are to squeal, thereby ending his chances for a pardon, or saying nothing, and hoping for that pardon.

Interestingly, the implied self-interest by Bush in pardoning Libby will completely erase the Marc Rich pardon, which I know the Republicans were saving in their little bag of tricks to pull out at the appropriate moment during the 2008 race. Hmmmm.
