Receding Rove

It's to spend time with his family, dummy. Why would you think Karl Rove's blessed departure from the Administration would have anything to do with avoiding further scrutiny and embarrassment for the White house over the firing of those obviously incompetent attorneys? He needs now, for the first time in his life, to spend more time with his family.
"I know they'll say that," Rove told the Wall Street Journal, "But I'm not going to stay or leave based on whether it pleases the mob."
The mob of course, being the vast majority of the American people to whom sovereignty allegedly still belongs. With the word mob, Rove gives us a sharp insight into the administration, its loathing for democracy, its aristocratic presumption and its disdain for the people for whom it works. Well, of course it does please the mob and it must please George Bush who has evidently given the bastard two week's notice to be rid of Turd Blossom, the likelihood of his prosecution and all his stink.

Good riddance.

Good riddance, indeed. I note his son, whom Rove wishes to spend more time with, is in college. What insults me even more than being lumped in with the "mob" crew, is just how stupid Rove and company really believe we are. Then again, the country did fall for his "Bush above party or country" strategy, so maybe he's partly right.

That's usually my first reaction when I find out I've been lied to - just how stupid do you think I am? Apparently the Bush crew thinks we're very stupid and it's doubly annoying they way they all talk down to us.

Of course the very most annoying thing is that the lies and condescending sneers usually work.

My thoughts exactly. The fact is, and Bush/Rove/Cheney know it well, we ARE stupid enough to buy into their agenda and believe the lies until it is too late. Then we will continue to follow their lead albiet grumblingly because we are frightened (by design)and need a strong leader to protect us.
People still believe that the politicians work for their best interests and represent them. This is a crock. Politicians are operating on a completely different plane than that on which we live. We run around like ants below them and truly must appear as just a mob.
